Ahh, the End of Summer

sunset at beach

It’s finally September and although we probably still have two or three days of over one hundred-degree temperatures left here at home, I know this is the end of summer. For starters, I no longer have to search for a vacant treadmill at the gym now that all the kids are back in school! Just in the past week, night-time temperatures have dropped enough to now allow me to turn off the AC and sleep with my windows open. There is nothing better than that nice breeze coming through the window at night.

One of the things I love most about living in California are the mild temperatures during the change in seasons. In my current work in progress (WIP) this next novel takes place in Southern California. The lower region of California is home to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hollywood, and miles and miles of great sandy beaches.

What could be more romantic than a walk on the beach with your man at your side? Well, maybe sipping on a morning cup of coffee with that same guy as you reflect together on your perfect date last night.

In honoring the great state of California, this month I am giving away one of Starbucks Been There Series collection coffee mugs featuring the state of California.

All you have to do for a chance to win is leave a comment at the bottom of this Blog on what it is that you love about California. Who knows, maybe your comment may spark an idea for a date for my characters. All submissions will be entered into the drawing and one name will be pulled on September 30, 2019 as the winner and announced in October’s blog.

In Case You’re Wondering:

My latest release Escaping Camp Roosevelt is still doing very well. With the royalties from each sale of the book being donated to a great humanitarian cause, we will be able to truly make a difference in the lives of the LGBTQ homeless youth out there.

a five star review of camp roosevelt that says it was the favorite read of the year

As much as the subject matter was difficult to write about, I’m glad I listened to that inner-voice and kept writing. Here is one of the latest reviews on the book.

Breathtakingly Moving Story

This loving story shows there is a light in life even when you can only see the darkness at the moment. Dancer is hurt from abuse and locks away his emotions due to fear of life. Tucker gives Dancer all of the love he has to offer. Pick this book up today, you will take an amazing journey with these men.

For everyone who takes the time to write and leave a review, I want you to know that it means the world to the author to hear from you. Writing is an amazing journey and I can’t thank everyone enough for your support. I wouldn’t want to do it without you!

Warmly

My favorite thing about California was being able to hop in the car and drive along the coast with my husband who has now passed on, but we loved stopping at the little towns and spending the weekend

It is also one of my favorite things as well. From our house, we can take a day trip to either the mountains, the beach, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or the wine country.

I love the desert and the ocean. I’ve been to LA area and San Diego and loved seeing both on any given drive. Loved going into desert east of San Diego and driving up to Santa Monica and on to Santa Barbara. Woul love to drive allthe way up the Pacific Coast to San Francisco and beyond. Maybe someday!

My Husband and I did that drive years ago from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It took hours. We talked, and talked, and talked. Occasional, we’d pull over to walk the beach or explore one of the many cute little towns that you pass through. Loved it!
