About the only thing familiar about this June is the hot weather that has been ushered in these past few days. In a month that is usually packed with Pride events every weekend around the world, just about all of the parades and parties have been canceled for this year for safety reasons due to the Coronavirus. Without a doubt, there is no way of social distancing yourself at an event with thousands of people around you.
In many parts of the country, things are slowly returning to perhaps what might be the new normal. With plenty of summer left, the Getty museum, the famous HOLLYWOOD sign on Mount Lee in the Hollywood Hills, and Moonstone Beach in Cambria, are all on my to-do list as soon as it’s safe to do.
Thank you to everyone who left comments last month, sharing how this pandemic has changed their daily life. Whether we knew someone personally that contracted the virus, self-quarantined ourselves, or were deemed an essential worker, it seems we have all been touched by this tragic pandemic in some way. Thank you for sharing your stories. As promised, I randomly chose three names from the comments, and congratulations to Andrea, Becca, and Doug. I’ve sent out emails to the three lucky winners, so if you haven’t received it, let me know so I can get your gift card out to you!
Far Away was released last month. If you haven’t had a chance to pick it up yet, make it your next summer read, and spend some time with the boys on Lake Winnipesaukee and the beautiful Greek island of Lemnos Greece, where the scent of wild aromatic thyme is blowing in the wind right about now.
For those of you who wrote some of the most beautiful reviews I’ve ever received on a book, thank you for letting me know how touched you were by Noah and Spiro’s story. As long as you keep reading them, I’ll keep writing them!
Until next month, please stay safe my friends.
